24 May St Magnus extends facilities
St Magnus has recently announced that the Locked Recovery Service facilities at the Haslemere based hospital have been extended.
The new unit increases the capacity of the unit by a further 12 specialist beds that focus on providing focused psychiatry inpatient care for older adult men.
In addition to these 12 new beds, further refurbishment enabled St Magnus to increase the size of its existing communal areas, including dining areas as well as indoor and outdoor recreational spaces.
Jo Randall, the Operations Director and Modern Matron of St Magnus said: “We are really pleased to have been able to work with the local community to build this new ward and to deliver a further 12 beds available for referrals immediately.
“We are really proud of our facilities which ensure that St Magnus remains a leading provider of secure mental health care for older men.”
The new facility was opened in April 2016 and is part of the continual development plans for St Magnus which will see all the existing facilities refurbished to exceed the latest industry standards.
